In A rare case, a 34-year-old IT professional, who hails from Kerala and works in Pune, suffered both a stroke and heart attack and was brought to Manipal Hospitals in Kharadi in an unconscious condition with the right side of his body in a para- lytic state.
Dr. Bhushan Joshi, consultant, neurology, Manipal Hospitals, Kharadi, told The Indian Express: "The patient was recently brought to us in a criti- cal condition and had paralysis on the right side. Thankfully, he was brought within the window period of four hours after the onset of stroke, and we were able to stabilise his condition. The patient has no comorbidity, but it was found that he may have suf- fered a heart attack which he thought was acidity, leading to clotting inside his heart."
